The local area is very popular with Spanish families and you will typically find three or four generations of families enjoying days out on the beach and evenings on the paseo. Children are welcome in restaurants and it is not uncommon for young children to be playing happily on the paseo at midnight in summer.

While personal safety has to be considered wherever you go, we have found this to be one of the safer areas for teens to spread their wings in the evenings. The lack of nightclubs and the family friendy atmosphere on the local paseos at Mezquitilla and Algarrobo means that this is the ideal place for them to be let loose for an hour or two.

There are play areas dotted around for young children and games tables are provided outside of some restaurants for older children.

The nearby (7 min drive) waterpark is very popular with children of all ages and the Nerja donkey sanctuary is always popular with animal lovers. Horseriding can also be booked nearby.

During summer and in October there are often Ferias with funfairs, again very popular!

The beaches at Nerja and Torre del Mar have pedaloes etc and often trampolines and various amusements for children.

Scuba diving is another popular activity and there are centres in Nerja and La Herradurra where the diving is particularly good.

At the house and apartment we provide some of the essentials for a holiday with children.

For babies we supply two travel cots with sheets and two highchairs as well as a baby bath, potty, loo seat and step, as well as a DOLPHIN POOL ALARM. We also supply a small inflatable paddling pool for keeping toddlers cool.

For swimmers we have a range of pool toys which include a basketball net and a volleyball net for fun in the pool.

We have a range of story tapes to keep the little ones amused, and for older children and young teens the two computers with internet access are always popular for keeping in touch with friends. The DVDs, games and books are also useful for spending time out of the sun.

For the more energetic there is a basketball net and a table tennis table.

We also have two kayaks for use in the sea (adult supervision needed).
